Red, White & Ready for School
Happy Independence Day!
As we celebrate our nation's Independence Day, this year carries even greater significance as America begins commemorating its 250th anniversary—a remarkable milestone that reminds us of the values that have shaped our country for generations: freedom, compassion, generosity, and caring for one another.
One of the greatest freedoms we enjoy is the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.
At the Big Z Foundation, we witness that spirit every day through the kindness of people like you. Because of your generosity, families facing the unimaginable challenges of catastrophic childhood illness receive not only financial assistance, but also the hope and encouragement that comes from knowing their community stands beside them.
As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, I invite you to help us continue that tradition of serving others by supporting our Back-to-School Backpack Drive, taking place July 1 through August 1.
Many children receiving treatment at our partner children's hospitals—and their school-aged siblings—face the additional challenge of preparing for a new school year while managing hospital stays, treatments, and financial hardship. Together, we can help ease that burden.
Your donation of a new backpack or school supplies will help ensure these children begin the school year with the essentials they need and the reassurance that they are surrounded by a community that cares.
How You Can Help
Purchase items from our online wishlists and have them shipped directly to the Big Z Foundation. (links below)
Drop off new backpacks or school supplies at one of our collection locations. (Spazo Restaurant & Bar and Eagle Postal Center in Allen)
Share our Backpack Drive with your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
Every backpack is more than school supplies—it is a tangible reminder that hope comes in many forms and that no family should face catastrophic childhood illness alone.
As we celebrate 250 years of our nation's enduring spirit, thank you for helping us put that spirit into action by embracing, raising up, and empowering families when they need it most.
From all of us at the Big Z Foundation, we wish you and your loved ones a safe, joyful, and blessed Independence Day.
